Welcome to CabaConnect ("we", "us", "our"). CabaConnect is a mobile marketplace that connects buyers in Algeria with travelers who carry products from abroad. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service").

  • Wallet Information: Deposit amounts, payout history, wallet balance, and payment method details (CCP, BaridiMob, or other supported methods).
  • Communications: Messages exchanged between buyers and travelers through the in-app chat, as well as communications with our support team.
  • Ratings & Reviews: Feedback you provide about other users after completed transactions.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, browser type, and mobile network information.
  • Location Data: With your consent, we may collect precise or approximate location data from your device to facilitate meetups and delivery coordination.
  • Usage Data: Pages viewed, features used, search queries, interaction patterns, session duration, and app performance data.
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, referring URLs, and error logs.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Provide and Operate the Service: Match buyers with travelers, process transactions, manage escrow deposits, facilitate handover code verification, and maintain wallet functionality.
  • Identity Verification: Conduct KYC checks to ensure the safety and trustworthiness of all users on the platform.
  • Payments and Escrow: Process deposits, hold funds in escrow, release payments to travelers upon confirmed delivery, and manage wallet top-ups and withdrawals.
  • Communications: Send transaction updates, delivery notifications, handover codes, and important service announcements.
  • Safety and Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized activity; enforce our Terms and Conditions.
  • Improvement: Analyze usage patterns to improve the Service, develop new features, and enhance user experience.
  • Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

4. Sharing Your Information

We may share your personal information in the following circumstances:

  • With Other Users: When you engage in a transaction, limited profile information (name, profile photo, rating) is shared with the other party. Precise contact details are only shared as needed to facilitate the delivery.
  • Payment Processors: We share necessary transaction data with payment service providers (CCP, BaridiMob, and other supported payment methods) to process deposits, top-ups, and payouts.
  • KYC / Verification Providers: Identity documents and verification data are shared with our third-party identity verification partners.
  • Service Providers: We may share information with trusted third parties who assist us in operating the Service, including hosting, analytics, and customer support providers.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CabaConnect, our users, or others.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
  • Secure storage of identity verification documents with restricted access.
  • Protection of escrow funds through secure payment infrastructure.
  • Regular security assessments and monitoring for unauthorized access.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

  • Account Data: Retained for the lifetime of your account, plus a reasonable period after account closure for legal and audit purposes.
  • Transaction Records: Retained for a minimum of 5 years after the transaction to comply with financial regulations and resolve potential disputes.
  • KYC Documents: Retained as required by applicable identity verification and anti-money laundering regulations.
