2. Description of CabaConnect
CabaConnect is a mobile marketplace platform that facilitates
peer-to-peer shopping and delivery services between buyers and
travelers. The platform enables buyers in Algeria to request products
from abroad and connects them with travelers who can carry those
products during their trips.
CabaConnect can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play. By
using the Service, you acknowledge that CabaConnect:
- Acts as a gateway to connect buyers with travelers.
-
Is not a shipping company, logistics company, or
courier service.
-
Is not an owner or operator of transportation
services.
-
Does not take possession of any items at any time.
-
Provides a platform and limited dispute resolution services only.
3. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account. By registering, you
attest that:
-
You are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older.
-
The information you provide about yourself is accurate and complete.
-
You will update your account information promptly if it changes.
-
You have read and agree to these Terms, our
Privacy Policy, and any other
applicable guidelines.
You must complete
KYC (Know Your Customer) identity verification before
you can engage in any transactions on the platform. This includes
providing a valid government-issued ID and completing the verification
process.
4. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. If you
suspect unauthorized access or any suspicious activity, you must notify
CabaConnect immediately at
support@cabaconnect.com.
CabaConnect reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that
show signs of fraudulent activity, violation of these Terms, or other
misuse.
5. The Role of CabaConnect
CabaConnect's roles in any transaction between a buyer and a traveler
are strictly limited to:
-
Connecting buyers with travelers and enabling them to voluntarily
enter into transactions on terms of their own choosing.
-
Facilitating secure escrow deposits and handover code verification.
- Providing limited dispute resolution and mediation services.
CabaConnect shall not be responsible for any party's
performance of their obligations in a transaction, nor for any customs
or import problems, loss, injury, or damage that may arise in connection
with any transaction.
6. Buyer Terms
6.1 Posting a Request
Buyers may post a request for a specific product by providing accurate
details including: product description, estimated price, preferred
origin country, and budget for the traveler's reward. Alternatively,
buyers may browse traveler listings and make direct requests.
6.2 Accepting an Offer & Payment
When a buyer accepts a traveler's offer, the buyer must pay a secure
deposit from their wallet. This deposit is held in escrow by CabaConnect
until delivery is confirmed. The deposit covers the product cost and the
traveler's agreed-upon reward.
6.3 Receiving Delivery
Upon delivery, the buyer receives a unique 6-digit handover code via the
app. The buyer shares this code with the traveler to confirm safe
receipt of the item. Once the code is verified:
- The escrow funds are released to the traveler's wallet.
- The transaction is marked as completed.
- Both parties are prompted to leave ratings and reviews.
6.4 Buyer Obligations
- Provide accurate and complete product details in requests.
- Do not request prohibited items (see Section 12).
- Meet travelers in public, safe locations for handover.
-
Pay any applicable customs duties if they arise from the transaction.
- Confirm delivery promptly using the handover code.
7. Traveler Terms
7.1 Posting a Trip
Travelers may post their upcoming trip details including: origin,
destination, travel dates, and available luggage capacity.
Alternatively, travelers may browse buyer requests and make offers.
7.2 Accepting a Deal & Confirmation
When a traveler makes an offer on a buyer's request and the buyer
accepts, the transaction is confirmed once the buyer's deposit is placed
in escrow. At this point, the traveler is committed to purchasing and
delivering the item.
7.3 Delivery & Payment
The traveler purchases the item abroad and delivers it to the buyer in
person. Upon delivery:
- The traveler enters the handover code provided by the buyer.
-
Once verified, the escrowed funds (minus any CabaConnect fees) are
released to the traveler's wallet.
- Funds are available instantly in the traveler's in-app wallet.
7.4 Traveler Obligations
-
Provide accurate trip details (dates, origin, destination, available
space).
- Purchase the correct item as described in the buyer's request.
- Upload proof of purchase (receipt) when requested.
- Do not carry prohibited items (see Section 12).
- Deliver items in good condition and on the agreed timeline.
-
Be aware of customs regulations for both origin and destination
countries.
8. Escrow & Deposits
CabaConnect uses an escrow system to protect both buyers and travelers:
-
When a buyer accepts an offer, a deposit is deducted from their wallet
and held in escrow.
-
Neither party can access the escrowed funds during the transaction.
-
Funds are released to the traveler's wallet only upon successful
handover code verification.
-
If a traveler fails to deliver, the escrowed deposit is returned to
the buyer's wallet.
-
In case of disputes, CabaConnect may hold funds until the dispute is
resolved.
9. Fees & Payments
-
CabaConnect Commission: A service fee is charged on
each transaction. The fee amount is displayed to both parties before
confirming a deal.
-
Wallet Top-Up: Buyers can top up their wallet using
CCP, BaridiMob, and other local payment methods supported in Algeria.
-
Traveler Payouts: Travelers receive their reward
minus the CabaConnect commission directly in their in-app wallet upon
confirmed delivery.
-
Transaction Fees: Payment gateway fees may apply
depending on the top-up or withdrawal method used.
10. Handover Code & Delivery
The handover code system is a core safety feature of CabaConnect:
-
A unique 6-digit PIN is generated for each delivery and sent to the
buyer via the app.
-
The buyer shares the code with the traveler
only after inspecting and accepting the delivered
item.
- The traveler enters the code in the app to confirm delivery.
- This code serves as binding proof of successful delivery.
CabaConnect strongly recommends that all handover meetings take place in
public, well-lit locations for the safety of both
parties.
11. Risk of Loss
-
Once a traveler carries a shipment, the traveler is responsible for
its safekeeping until delivery.
-
If an item is lost due to airline baggage loss, the traveler must
provide legal evidence (e.g., airline lost luggage report). In such
cases, the escrowed funds are returned to the buyer.
-
If a traveler loses or damages an item through negligence, the
traveler is responsible for reimbursing the buyer. CabaConnect will
mediate the dispute.
-
CabaConnect is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items, but will
provide dispute resolution support.
12. Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited on CabaConnect. Travelers
must always inspect items before accepting them. Both buyers and
travelers must comply with customs and import regulations of all
relevant jurisdictions.
- Firearms, ammunition, and explosives
- Knives, weapons, and police equipment
- Illegal drugs and controlled substances
- Counterfeit goods or currency
- Stolen property
- Aerosols and flammable liquids
- Dangerous goods as defined by IATA
- Live animals
- Human remains
-
Items prohibited by law in the country of origin, destination, or any
transit country
-
Any item without a corresponding clear category in the CabaConnect app
Violation of this policy may result in immediate account suspension and
reporting to relevant authorities.
13. Customs & Import Regulations
CabaConnect is committed to compliance with customs regulations and laws
in all countries. Users are responsible for:
-
Understanding and complying with customs laws and import regulations
of both origin and destination countries.
-
Declaring items accurately and paying any applicable customs duties or
taxes.
-
Not attempting to import commercial quantities of goods. CabaConnect
is designed for personal-use items only.
13.1 Customs Duty Responsibility
If customs duties are assessed on an item:
-
The buyer is generally responsible for customs
duties/taxes, as they are the requester of the item.
-
The traveler must provide proper documentation (customs receipts) as
proof of duties paid.
-
If the traveler's negligence (e.g., mixing personal items causing duty
assessment) caused the duties, the traveler bears responsibility.
-
Either party may contact CabaConnect for mediation in customs-related
disputes.
14. Ratings & Reviews
After each completed transaction, both buyers and travelers are
encouraged to leave ratings and reviews. This system helps build trust
within the CabaConnect community. Users agree to:
- Provide honest and fair reviews based on their experience.
- Not post defamatory, abusive, or fraudulent reviews.
- Not manipulate ratings through fake transactions or collusion.
CabaConnect reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these
guidelines.
15. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute between a buyer and a traveler, CabaConnect
offers mediation services:
-
Either party may initiate a dispute through the app or by contacting
support@cabaconnect.com.
-
CabaConnect will review transaction records, chat history, proof of
purchase, and any other relevant evidence.
-
Standard disputes are typically resolved within
2–7 business days.
-
Complex disputes may take up to 30 business days.
- During a dispute, escrowed funds may be held until resolution.
CabaConnect's dispute resolution decisions are made in good faith but
are not legally binding arbitration.

17. Changes to These Terms
CabaConnect may update these Terms at any time. When changes are made,
we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For
